The beaches and the American Cemetery are free to visit. The MΓ©morial de Caen and other museum sites charge admission β€” check student rates individually.

Stunning white chalk sea-cliffs that inspired Monet, Gustave Courbet, and Guy de Maupassant β€” with a natural rock arch.

Cliff walks are free of charge.

The cliff walk is completely free β€” park at the top car park and walk both headlands. The village beach is pebbled but free. Visit at sunrise if you can.

Claude Monet's house and water garden β€” the famous Japanese bridge and water lily pond that he painted obsessively.

Rouen Cathedral & Old Town

One of Europe's greatest Gothic cathedrals (also painted by Monet), in a beautifully preserved medieval city.

Rouen Cathedral is free to enter.

Bayeux Tapestry
