The sites of some of WWI's bloodiest battles β€” the Thiepval Memorial, Lochnagar Crater, and the Historial de la Grande Guerre museum.

Commonwealth War Graves cemeteries and major memorials are free to visit. The Historial de la Grande Guerre museum (PΓ©ronne) has student rates.

White chalk cliffs on the Pas-de-Calais coast β€” on a clear day you can see the Dover cliffs in England, 33 km away.
